Kathy West

Wildlife Conservation Photographer

As a wildlife and conservation photographer, my work goes beyond capturing the image of an animal—it seeks to offer a deeper insight into its life, behavior, and the fascinating ways in which it interacts with its environment. Through my images of threatened and endangered species, I aim to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of the natural world, inspiring others to take meaningful action in conservation.

In my travels to primate habitat countries, I am privileged to contribute directly to conservation efforts on the ground. However, I also seize extraordinary opportunities to visit areas of high biodiversity, driven by a deep desire to photograph and learn about all species, from insects to primates (see one of my photographic journey in Kenya’s Maasai Mara). These moments not only enrich my own understanding of the natural world, but also bring attention to the urgent need for preserving ecosystems that sustain countless forms of life.

My work is an invitation for others to join the conversation and the critical mission of protecting our planet’s most vulnerable species.

I have metal and matted prints, press-print and handmade cards, for $5 to $50. My images are from a myriad of animals and plants from around the world– birds, monkeys, gorillas, elephants, giraffes, big cats, zebra, iguanas, landscapes, and so many more!

You can read more about me here, see many of my images in my website galleries, and check out this fun honor I had in March 2023 “Top Shelf Featured Photographer“. Let me know if you see something that you would like to have printed, anytime you need a custom size and print media.
